An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Auditor to join Mid Kent Audit and play a vital role in helping to deliver an effective and efficient internal audit and wider assurance services.
This is a full-time position, on a permanent contract, working 37 hours a week Monday to Friday, with broad scope for agile working including job share and flexible hours.
Your focus will be on supporting annual audit and assurance plans. As a positive role model to junior staff and the wider team, you’ll deliver work to the highest professional standards.
Working alongside our two other Senior Auditors, you’ll lead on our work following up implementation of agreed actions. Budget monitoring, consultation in budget setting, arranging and supervising work and preparing draft output reports to management will all fall within your extensive remit.
You’ll also directly supervise junior staff on projects and take on an agreed personal audit plan each year, completing reviews and other audit and assurance work in line with Professional Standards. This calls for a commitment both to your own development and improving our audit and assurance methods.
We’re looking for someone with significant experience in an audit or investigator role. This will have seen you taking the lead on projects and supporting your team to meet deadlines. You will also be comfortable communicating directly with senior managers.
As well as a demonstrable track record in local government and internal audit, you’ll be a graduate in a relevant discipline and familiar with Pentana or similar EWP packages. You will be committed to high quality service delivery, in line with the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards. As well as your significant audit or investigative experience, the best candidates will have a strong understanding of local government, hold a relevant professional qualification and possess experience working with electronic audit documentation.
Your wide-ranging capabilities will also include negotiating, influencing and decision-making skills. An analytical mind and the ability to act as mentor to others will also be key.
Working in mid Kent you’ll also be less than an hour from London by train and have all the County can offer at your fingertips. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your skills and experience within an organisation that prides itself on supporting its staff.
