An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Auditors to join Mid Kent Audit and play a vital role in helping to deliver an effective and efficient internal audit service.
These are full-time positions, on permanent contracts, working 37 hours a week Monday to Friday, with broad scope for agile working including job share and flexible hours.
Your main focus will be on delivering audit work in line with professional standards. This will support annual opinions on control effectiveness, governance and risk management and help the authorities in developing their services.
Your audit projects will cover a range of different services across our partner authorities: Ashford, Maidstone, Swale and Tunbridge Wells. This will involve developing audit briefs with customer and audit management, as well as completing audit reviews and working on following-up recommendations. There will also be opportunities to get involved with non-audit work, such as risk, governance & counter fraud.
We’re looking for people with recent experience in an audit or investigator role. This will have seen you documenting the outcome of work, completing projects as a part of a team and managing multiple deadlines. You will also be comfortable communicating directly with senior managers.
You will be committed to high quality service delivery, in line with the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards. As well as your recent audit or investigation experience, the best candidates will have an understanding of local government, be educated to degree level and possess experience of working with electronic audit documentation.
Your wide-ranging capabilities will also include excellent all-round communication, interpersonal, negotiating, influencing and decision making skills. An analytical mind and the ability to conduct research and present your results is essential.
Working in mid Kent you’ll also be less than an hour from London by train and have all the County can offer at your fingertips. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your skills and experience within an organisation that prides itself on supporting its staff.
