This is a full-time position, on a permanent contract, working 37 hours a week Monday to Friday, with the scope for agile working under the Council’s new agile working arrangements, dependant on the needs of service.
You will provide support and direction for our risk management and governance work plans. This will involve working alongside the Deputy Head of Audit Partnership (DHAP) and the team to develop and implement enterprise risk management and improve governance practices.
We’ll look to you for day-to-day risk support to ensure consistency across our agreed risk management policies and procedures. You will also administer risk documentation, report on risk insights and be able to position yourself as a trusted risk advisor.
In terms of governance, your role will give you the opportunity to improve the systems, practices, and processes that direct and control the Councils, including fraud risk, and counter fraud strategies. Supporting the DHAP and proposing ways to strengthen governance practices and processes will also fall within your remit.
This role will suit a graduate with risk management certifications, such as IRM or IIA, equally, project management or governance qualifications would complement the role. A firm grasp of current risk management practices and how they apply to business delivery is also essential, along with a sound understanding of corporate governance principles.
